As the world continues facing the challenges of COVID-19, the SAE Collegiate Design Series has the opportunity to pivot to allow for strong student engagement in a controlled manner to meet all the necessary precautions of the pandemic and still deliver a strong educational experience for our teams.
This week, SAE International has released a COVID Mitigation Protocol and Liability Waiver that will outline how the programs will adjust operations while onsite to allow for a safe and educational competition for teams to validate their student designs. Additionally, each competition location will publish separately onsite operational changes required for state or venue restrictions.
These two documents can be found online in under our Series Resources at www.saeaerodesign.com/go/downloads within the 'June Validation Event Info' folder of 2021 CDS Competition Plan. Each participant planning to attend the competition is encouraged to print off, in advance, copies of the COVID liability waiver to be completed prior to arriving to competition daily.
