SAE International is shining a spotlight on both students and faculty advisors with two prestigious awards that honor leadership, vision, and impact in STEM.
The SAE International Award for Outstanding Student Leadership in STEM honoring Max Rumbaugh celebrates student members who have shown exceptional leadership in SAE activities during the current academic year. Established in 2002, this award includes lifetime professional SAE membership and a trip to a major SAE event. Eligible nominees are SAE student members in technical fields who are graduating or recently graduated and have actively led SAE initiatives. Nominations are submitted by a student’s faculty advisor.
The SAE International Educational Award honoring Ralph R. Teetor recognizes outstanding faculty advisors in the early stages of their academic careers. This award, established in 1963, is given to engineering educators within three to ten years of completing their terminal degree. Recipients are chosen for excellence in teaching, curriculum development, research contributions aligned with SAE’s mobility mission, and leadership in inspiring students.
Both awards include recognition at a major SAE event and highlight the essential partnership between students and faculty advisors that fuels innovation and community.
